Our Children’s Ministry teaches age-appropriate Bible lessons in the Sunday School classroom, during Children’s Choir and AWANA and offers fun events and programs for the whole family throughout the year.  Fun-filled programs with a purpose take place during the summer months. For a greater description about a particular area, read below the schedule of activities.

Age-groupings are based on the age of the child by August 15th of each school year according to the McMinn County Kindergarten age requirement. For any given class, children must be the age shown on/by Aug. 15th of the current year.) Promotion occurs church-wide in September.

**AWANA Clubs
AWANA stands for “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed” (Based on 2nd Timothy 2:15). The mission of this organization is to “reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him.”

EBC Clubs meet most every Sunday (check the church calendar) from August through the first of May, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Dinner for your children is available through the club year, at 5:00 p.m.  Awards Night is held at the end of each club year (see calendar).

AWANA Club is made up of 3 segments* each night:  Game Time, Handbook Time, and Council Time for 3rd-5th graders/Green Meadow for Kindergarten-2nd graders or Story Time for Preschoolers.

The children love this segment more than anything else!  They work with their team (Red Team, Yellow Team, Green Team, or Blue Team) and play games which teach them to work together and encourage one another.

This is one of the most important segments of AWANA.  Your child will receive a booklet with Scripture (NIV ) and other material to memorize.  Your child brings this handbook each week.   Go over the memory work with your child, including scripture references. By saying their memory verse to their leader, they will earn their handbook, uniform, and awards.  This segment is crucial for spiritual growth.

During this segment, your child will hear a message from God’s Word.  Each week, we will also talk about missions, looking at specific areas of world and missionaries who are serving Christ at home or abroad.
